Building an ammonia fuel bunkering network for shipping
Ammonia is a promising fuel to decarbonize shipping. Green ammonia serves as a hydrogen carrier, which can eliminate greenhouse gas emissions from shipping.
Azane Fuel Solutions has developed the most mature ammonia bunkering infrastructure projects in Norway. In December 2025 they were awarded NOK 442 million in grants from Enova to construct three ammonia terminals in Florø, Mongstad and Risavika. These will be among the first in Europe to offer ammonia as a shipping fuel.
Since March 2025, Styri has supported Azane with project management and engineering resources to develop several ammonia ship bunkering locations in Scandinavia.
Fuel Cell component development for a globally leading actor
Fuel Cells convert fuel to electric power much more efficiently than conventional combustion engines. Our team has an extensive background in the development of marine grade fuel cell systems.
In this project, Styri was responsible for managing the development of a fuel cell component on behalf of a global OEM in the industrial automation domain.
